The Adam Becker Experience

What's the easiest $25 you ever made?

So my Newsvine payout balance is sitting at a paltry $21.75, well below the $25 necessary for payouts. Right now, it tends to accrue about $0.08 per month, which would mean a long time before it surpasses that magical barrier. I need to do something about this.

Cambodia, Thailand on the brink of war

I know I'm probably the only one who will care about this, but it's pretty crazy how quickly this escalated.

The Ralph Nader Effect

In the 2000 presidential election, 97,000 people in Florida - a state in which Al Gore reportedly lost to George W Bush by about 6,000 votes - voted for Ralph Nader. If the Democrat Party is to be believed, these 97,000 people are guilty of no less than treason.

Barack Obama on the issues

In the three US presidential elections I have been old enough to follow intelligently, no candidate has been surrounded by as much empty rhetoric as Barack Obama.

The new homophobia - not that there's anything wrong with that

So I'm sitting around a table, playing card games at a party with some friends recently, when the conversation took a sudden, unexpected (to me) turn: So ... do you think George (name changed for the sake of anonymity) is gay? He's got to be, right? But let me back up.
